The Cancer Center provides cancer patients and their families the best possible care during what may be anyone’s most difficult health challenge.

The center brings all of the elements of cancer care under one roof, including outpatient radiation therapy, outpatient chemotherapy, inpatient hospitalization and an outstanding array of support facilities and programs. The convenience of coming to one place for all aspects of cancer care is something that our patients find invaluable.

The center is designed with cancer patients and their families in mind—not only providing the latest in technologies, but also ensuring an environment that promotes healing and wellness. The center’s 18 inpatient beds are in oversized rooms that include kitchens and overnight accommodations for patients’ families. Patients undergoing treatment can also move about the facility and visit the garden, the labyrinth or their balcony to enjoy fresh air. And, to aid with information gathering, a library is available to assist visitors with Internet access and other resources to research any disease.

A tremendous environment for healing is not the only outstanding feature of the Cancer Center. Some of the world’s latest technologies are offered at the Center, including advanced imaging technologies that assist in earlier detection of cancers and provide better definition of the location and sizes of tumors, such as:
• Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
• Intensity Modulated Radiation Treatment (IMRT)
• High Dose Radiation (HDR)

The Cancer Center has also formed an alliance with one of the top 40 cancer centers in the country: the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. This alliance brings access to the physicians and resources of Wake Forest University to patients of The High Point Regional health System’s Cancer Center.

The Cancer Center’s wonderful facility and high-tech treatment capabilities are impressive, but there is one thing that’s even more important to our patients and their families, and that is the people who provide cancer care in the center. Our physicians, our award-winning nurses and every support person in the center display a level of compassion that makes High Point Regional one of only 40 Magnet Healthcare Organizations. From the nurse who holds a patient’s hand to the housekeeper who goes the extra mile, the staff of the Cancer Center truly makes this place of healing unique.
