The Regional Center for Bariatric Surgery (RCBS) is one of the first in the area to offer adjustable gastric banding, a device that is surgically implanted around the stomach to help people with morbid obesity lose weight and improve or resolve obesity-related health conditions including type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea and high cholesterol.

Currently RCBS offers two similar products for the gastric banding procedure. The Realize™ personalized banding solution is manufactured and provided by Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc. The LAP-BAND® adjustable gastric banding system is manufactured and provided by Allergan / Covidien.
